Work has taken place with this family over some time. A few years ago I arranged for adaptations and the bathroom altered so that Kathleen and her husband could stay in their home of over 45 years. This included working with Social Services to organise grab rails near the back door and a seat in the shower to make it safer to use. I also organised with a local company to fit a stair lift to make the house fit the household's needs at this time and ensuring that all parts of the house could be used easily.
When Kathleen’s main carer died I organised viewings at local care homes and a place was chosen which met her health needs and was local so she was accessible to her family for visits. Social Services had originally wanted Kathleen to be placed in an assessment home which her family felt was too far away. Work was done with the Social Worker and Kathleen’s family were able to obtain a place at a local home. Kathleen is now thriving in her new environment as you can see from the picture.
When I broke my wrist I used Jane’s service to adapt my home to make life easier. Myself and my family were so glad I used her service – it enabled me to maintain my independence.Eileen, Silsden, West Yorkshire
All the stress of moving my mother-in- law was taken away from me and I was able to concentrate on settling her into a care home and focussing on her emotional needs. I would have no hesitation in recommended Jane’s service. Mrs L, Baildon, West Yorkshire
