About HALE

HALE was set up in 2003 and became an independent charity in 2008. The overall aim remains the same: to improve people’s health where there is the greatest need.

This local organisation provides many activities and events including Memory cafes which are especially useful for those living with Dementia. They work with people of all ages and backgrounds, and projects include loneliness and alcohol awareness. They do not just work with older people but various groups e.g Tuesday night project which is a  a young peoples youth cafe aimed at 11-18 year olds. Come together and chat and discuss young peoples issues. Child Sex Exploitation prevention sessions will also be offered.


Bingley Catch up is also available which is  friendly environment for parents-to-be and the parents parents/carers of young children to meet others.

Health visitors are available and support and information on a range of family services.  Also available:

  • Health Visitors and Baby weighing
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Advice on pre & post natal health
  • Weaning tips
  • Signposting to other community services
  • ‘pre-loved’ baby clothes
